The Knox County Dan Emmett Flower Show was a great success this year.   The theme of the show was Knox County Parks and featured references to the variety of parks across the county.

Both the Artistic Classes and the Horticulture were well represented.   I have an album on Shutterfly I will add the link later

The show was held at the Living Center in Mt Vernon, OH and there were a couple of special classes for the residents only.   Be sure and see the beautiful plaques they created with materials found in and around the woods.   The Best of Show plaque shown below is the work of resident Martha Robey.

In addition, the houseplants class for the residents was filled with many beautiful plants.  Martha Robey also won a Blue Ribbon in the Houseplants Section with her burro’s tail.

JoAnn Graham made an impression with her beautiful design to represent the Hellbender Preserve.   It was Best of Show in Section D which was open to Judges, Professionals and everyone.   This picture is on the Home page.

She also won the ‘Judge’s Choice” award, with a beautiful mass arrangement featuring pinks to burgandy hues.     This award was open to any arrangement, not necessarily the ones who won a first place.   Truly what the Judge Likes.

We also  had several beautiful Jr. entries.  The beautiful entry below was created by Cally Carpenter of the Rosebuds Jr. Garden Club.    This club is led by JoAnn Graham and Mary Scott.    There were several entries from members of this club and were a welcome addition to the flower show.

Knox County is truly blessed to have a volunteer who gives freely of her time and talents in Mary Scott.   She does the Class Tags and all the Signage for the Knox County Show in her beautiful Calligraphy.   Her Section Tags were so clever this year  I feel they need to be featured as well.   Below are the tags for the Adult Artistic Sections.   Aren’t they both beautifully executed and cleverly decorated.

Many Thanks to Mary for her work!
