Earth, Wind and Flowers Garden Club Begins 25th year. click on picture to enlarge Photograph. On the evening of February 7, 2011, members of the Earth, Wind and Flowers Garden Club viewed the original letter sent to welcome the club into affiliation with the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs, Inc. In the front row, the original president, Mary Ann Basinger, and vice-president, Mary Lee Minor, note that the date of the letter was February 7, 1986, marking the beginning of the club's 25th year. Highlights have included initiating 'Company's Coming' the landscaping effort at the Crawford County Fairgrounds, planting the very first hanging baskets for the city's downtown, maintaining junior gardening activities, making monthly visits to the Crawford County home, hosting a huge perennial plant sale each May, and holding flower shows both on their own and at the county fair.
